Organized by the Lombardy Region in collaboration with the Order of Journalists of Lombardy and the association GiuliA- United Free Autonomous Journalists - the course "Countering violence against women: policies, tools and services" aims to present policies and actions implemented in the field and services activated in the Lombardy region to prevent and combat violence against women.
In fact, today's initiative aims to provide journalists with information and reliable data regarding the phenomenon of violence against women in Italy and in particular in Lombardy, on the policies promoted and on the enforcement tools implemented so that the information conveyed by the media and the terminology used can always be more accurate, attentive and informing.
This is also in compliance with the "Manifesto of female and male journalists for respect and gender equality in information against all forms of violence and discrimination through words and images" presented in Venice on November 25th, 2017.
Experts from the journalistic, university, health and public security sectors took part in the work, which was opened by the Councillor Silvia Piani.
The training course, aimed at journalists enrolled in the professional register, practitioners, students attending courses and masters in journalism, entitles the acquisition of 6 university credits.
